Allison Traxler

Allison Traxler has over 20 years of experience in the field of Development and Fundraising. She began serving as Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge’s Director of Development Major Gifts in 2007 and currently serves as Vice-President and Chief Communications Officer. She is responsible for managing donor relations, marketing, public relations, the Board of Directors Development Committee and volunteer services throughout our 19 parish service area.

Allison holds a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and has been in the fundraising arena since 1996. Allison has spearheaded all of our Celebration for Change events and has extensive training in the Benevon Fundraising Model. Before her employment with Volunteers of America, she joined the organization’s Board of Directors in 2003. She also worked in development at Ochsner Health System, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School and the Red Cross. She has served as president of the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Allison is both a past Board member and a past Sustaining Advisor of the Junior League of Baton Rouge. She is a graduate of Leadership Baton Rouge and Volunteers of America’s Executive Development Program (EDP). She is the founding President of the Volunteers of America EDP Leadership Alumni group.

Currently, Allison serves on the boards of Our Lady of Mercy School, St. Joseph’s Academy Mothers Club and Elan Cotillion. She volunteers with the Baton Rouge Crisis Center, her church and her children’s schools. She is married to Dr. Jon G. Traxler and is mother to Emma, Wesley and Grey. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, her three dogs, and her children’s sporting events.
