Are you an expecting parent or the parent of an infant, toddler or preschool child?

As a state-designated Resource and Referral Agency, Volunteers of America can help you get started on your search for quality child care! We can provide you with custom, computerized referrals to licensed child care centers and family child care providers in your area.

School finder services are available for the following parishes:
Acadia, Allen, Ascension, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson Davis, Livingston, Rapides, St. Helena, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, Vermilion, Vernon, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana.

You may search for care based on the following criteria: 

  • The location where care and education is requested
  • The age of your child
  • The center's academic performance 
  • The special needs of your child; for example a provider with special needs training
  • Hours of operation, before/after care provided 
  • Transportation is provided 


Choosing the right care for your child is a choice that only you, the parent, can make.  Volunteers of America South Central Louisiana does not rate or recommend specific child care providers. It is up to you to evaluate the quality of care being provided by each provider.
