Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF)
The SSVF program provides financial assistance to veteran households that would otherwise become homeless. We also provide housing placement assistance to unsheltered households or households living in emergency shelters. Assistance provided by Case Managers, Case Aides, and the outreach team includes funds to pay for deposits and first month’s rent, eviction prevention, utility deposits, and arrears payments, assistance with the purchase of items to furnish and outfit units, and support services. Program staff contact and engage homeless veterans through street outreach. The program serves the following parishes: Acadiana, Ascension, East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Calcasieu, East Iberville, West Iberville, Livingston, Rapides, St. Landry, and Tangipahoa (Hammond).
