VOAGBR Celebrates 100 Years of Service

Since 1921, Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge has provided life-changing services throughout south Louisiana. Over the years, we've transformed from a small operation to a nearly 300-person organization that impacts nearly 20,000 individuals across 24 parishes throughout the Greater Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Lake Charles areas. We may have grown, but our mission hasn't changed. Volunteers of America remains dedicated to helping individuals and families gain self-reliance, dignity and hope.
Our services include therapy and treatment for abused and neglected children, early childhood care and education, affordable housing services for Seniors, Veterans and formerly homeless consumers, vocational training for adults with disabilities and services for people with mental health issues. We aim to create a community where all people live in safety, with social, emotional and physical well-being, spiritual fulfillment, justice and hope.
On March 8, 2021, VOAGBR will celebrate its 100th birthday. In the coming months, we will highlight stories, client success stories, and more from throughout our history. You can see these stories on our social channels.
