Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Improving early literacy & fostering a love of reading among children and their families.

To better prepare Louisiana’s young children for successful literacy in kindergarten, VOA’s Partnerships in Child Care program has teamed up with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to provide children birth to age 5 with a free high quality age-appropriate book mailed directly to their home each month, no matter their family’s income.  Our local efforts are part of the successful national program founded by Dolly Parton in her home state of Tennessee.

Volunteers of America South Central Louisiana is a local affiliate partner of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library making the program available to children here in our local communities. With the help of corporate sponsorships, grants, and individual donations, VOA works to provide books to children and families in 10 parishes: Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St. James, West Baton Rouge and West Feliciana.
