Operation Backpack® is VOA’s initiative to fill in the gap for children experiencing homelessness, poverty, and otherwise underprivileged circumstances. We believe every student deserves the chance to succeed — and that starts with having the right tools on the first day of school.
In 2025, Volunteers of America distributed more than 55,000 backpacks to kids in need across the country. Thank you for your generous support that made this possible.
We at VOASCLA were thrilled to have joined in the Operation Backpack® program in 2025 and be a part of the program’s overall success. This school year, our goal locally is to support children in our Wraparound Services program by providing them with the tools they need to start the school year off feeling confident and ready to learn.
